We’re about to make a serious mistake.
The proposed American Health Care Act does not protect children’s health care coverage – and, in fact, threatens their chances of stable, predictable, and adequate coverage.
Even before Obamacare, millions of children – many with chronic illnesses or disabling conditions – were provided basic health care services by the government. The proposed plan could have the unintended consequence of negatively affecting these vital health care services for 30 million kids – including half of the children in Ohio.
This is not about politics – this is a real threat to the future of our state and nation. Any new health care legislation that aims to take the place of the Affordable Care Act must ensure children’s health care coverage is protected.
Everyone can agree it’s the right thing to do: giving kids a healthy start so they have a real chance at success in life.
